The flower industry comprises the cultivation of and trade in cut flowers, cut foliage, potted plants and bedding plants. PlantWorks has been working with several international flower producers to mycorrhize their plants e.g. roses for cut flowers where 15% yield increases have been shown following treatment with an adapted consortium of mycorrhizal fungi in production greenhouses. This was done with no loss in flower quality or size. A reduction in fertilizer inputs has also occurred as an added benefit.
